Anthropic model token volume on OpenRouter rose 3.6x after Opus 5.5 launched
This number shows that people are using it, but it comes from only one platform. It cannot be taken as direct evidence of Anthropic's total usage or reputation.

01What happened
OpenRouter published a set of data. After Opus 5.5 launched, the 7-day average token volume for Anthropic models rose 3.6x. Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 also drew a good response.
A token is roughly a unit that measures how a model processes text. The more tokens used, the more requests are being made to the model.
02Key numbers
- 3.6x: The rise in the 7-day average token volume for Anthropic models after Opus 5.5 launched
- One platform: This data comes only from OpenRouter. It does not represent Anthropic's total usage.
03What it shows
Traffic from one platform shows that people are using it. That is already a useful signal.
04What it does not show
- Anthropic's total usage
- Whether people like it or whether it works well
Someone saying they have not heard any negative feedback is a personal impression, not data. Heavy use does not mean the product is good.
05Why it matters
AI model buzz is often used as proof of success. Telling "people use it" apart from "it works well" keeps readers from treating one platform's traffic as a conclusion about the whole market.
